Dili, February 7, 2026 – Instituto Superior Dom Bosco held Student Council elections for the 2026 academic year, representing a significant exercise in democratic participation. The electoral process, attended by the Vice Rector, Father Hélio Cabral, PhD, and organized by second-year students, demonstrated active student involvement in leadership and administrative processes. Conducted through a free and secret ballot, the elections upheld principles of transparency, fairness, and inclusive participation across the ISDB academic community.
The results confirmed the election of Sebastião Vital, a third-year philosophy student, as President of the Student Council, with support from Arnol Jansen, Frederico Lay, and Indolénio de Carvalho. Together, their mandate reflects a shared responsibility to represent student interests and strengthen cooperation between students and institutional authorities. In his inaugural address, the newly elected president articulated a service-oriented conception of leadership, emphasizing ethical responsibility, accountability, and inclusiveness. This leadership philosophy is expected to guide the Council’s activities and make a positive contribution to the academic and social development of the ISDB community.
