Internet Infrastructure Improvements Underway at ISDB

Dili, Timor-Leste — September 23, 2025 — Efforts to enhance internet connectivity at the Instituto Superior Dom Bosco (ISDB) in Comoro, Dili, have taken a significant step forward. On September 20 and 21, Mr. Abreu, a lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Timor-Leste (UNTL), together with his students, installed new devices aimed at expanding the range of internet access within the institute.

Since its establishment in 2012, ISDB has faced persistent challenges with internet connectivity. Despite utilizing the Star Link service, coverage has remained limited and has been unable to fully serve all areas of the campus. The newly installed devices seek to address these issues by broadening the internet connection range throughout the ISDB grounds.

This improvement in basic infrastructure is expected to greatly facilitate teaching, learning, and research activities at ISDB. Additionally, it will support the digitization of library services and streamline administrative operations.

Although the installation process is ongoing and some adjustments are still required, the project team aims to complete all work by the end of the month. Once finalized, the enhanced internet service is anticipated to benefit the entire academic community at ISDB, marking a crucial step towards improved digital access and institutional development.
