Dili, 27 September 2025 – Students from Instituto Superior Dom Bosco (ISDB) made a strong impression in the grand final of the National University Public Debate, held under the theme “Timor-Leste Should Prioritise Internal Reforms Before Fully Joining ASEAN.” Representing ISDB, students Gracia and Job showcased outstanding public speaking and critical thinking skills, ultimately securing 3rd place in the highly competitive event. The debate took place at the TVET Studio of Colégio São Miguel Arcanjo in Comoro, Dili, and was attended by students, educators, parents, and supporters. The final round featured a head-to-head debate between ISDB and Instituto Superior São João de Britto (ISJB), with both teams addressing the complex balance between internal development and regional integration. Final results:

• 1st Place: Institute of Bussiness (IOB)
• 2nd Place: Universidade Católica Timorense (UCT)
• 3rd Place: Instituto Superior Dom Bosco (ISDB) – Gracia & Job
• 4th Place: Instituto Superior São João de Britto (ISJB)

The event highlighted the growing role of youth in shaping public discourse, with ISDB’s achievement serving as a proud moment for the institution and an inspiration for future student leaders.
