ISDB Holds Campus Orientation for Freshmen
The Instituto Superior Dom Bosco (ISDB) warmly welcomed its newest batch of freshmen during the annual campus orientation program. Organized by Fr. Casimiro and members of the Student Senate, the event aimed to introduce the incoming students to life at ISDB and guide them through the essential processes and resources available at the institute.
The orientation featured comprehensive sessions on various administrative procedures, including how to handle payments, apply for exams, and produce academic papers. Students were also introduced to “Biblioteca Nacher,” ISDB’s library, which plays a pivotal role in supporting learning and research.
Representatives from each department of ISDB delivered presentations to familiarize students with their department. Ms. Matilde represented the Administration, Mr. Aniceto spoke on behalf of the Computer and IT department, and Ms. Lucia presented the library services. Key leaders of the institute also addressed the new students, including the Rector of ISDB, Fr. Manuel Pinto, the Dean of the Philosophy Faculty, Fr. Silvano, and the Dean of the Faculty of Science of Education, Fr. Acacio.
As part of the program, some freshmen shared their motivations and aspirations for their time at ISDB. Juvencio Pinto revealed that a Salesian recommended ISDB to him, which influenced his decision to enroll. Similarly, Olga Freitas shared that her choice was guided by the Salesian atmosphere and ISDB’s reputation for excellence in philosophy. Both expressed a shared dream of using their formation to serve others and contribute to the nation.
ISDB extended a warm welcome to the new students and wished them a fruitful and successful academic journey. The event set the tone for an enriching and purposeful four years ahead.
